Eclipse Microporous Coating has become one of the most popular developments in recent waterproof breathable technology.

This technology has passed the test of time after being “tested” by millions of outdoor enthusiasts who wore garments that utilized this coating.

Recently, many garments have been made with “very marginal” waterproof breathable fabrics that did not live up to expectations in actual outdoor conditions. You can rest assured that Eclipse meets all of our rigid standards.

Eclipse™ Ceramic Microporous
Waterproof/Breathable Coated Fabrics:

Innovative ceramic technology provides many more holes that transport water vapor away from your body. This technology improves moisture vapor transmission and continues to out-perform any other type of waterproof fabric in breathability tests.

Due to the addition of millions of ceramic particles added to our coating resin, finer holes are created that offer up to 20% more in waterproof protection.

Extensive laboratory tests and field tests have been conducted and the results show Eclipse Ceramic as being very successful at improving fabric breathability. In addition, a pre-coat submersion in DWR, along with the ability to fully seam seal, both enhance the performance of this coating.

Eclipse™ Bi-Component Fabrics:

Bi-component “balanced” waterproof breathable systems are the most effective systems on the market. Hydrophilic systems do not transport perspiration vapor, but only the liquid perspiration formed when the vapor condenses. Microporous hydrophobic systems transport vapor, but do not transport condensed perspiration. By using a Bi-Component System that uses both hydrophilic and hydrophobic microporous elements, we have developed the most balanced, most effective and most versatile waterproof system available.

We have tested this system extensively, in the lab and in the field, and it has proven to be the best fabric for use in inclement climate conditions. The level of waterproofness is extremely high and the breathability is excellent.

Eclipse Bi-Component applications consist of both hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties to wick moisture and pump perspiration.

Available in Eclipse Twin Sensor™ along with other applications that are currently being developed.

Eclipse™ Barrier/Tech Fabrics:

Eclipse Barrier/Tech is a new fabric that uses a monolithic barrier membrane. This membrane is non-porous and has no holes. Other products (such as Gore-Tex™) have millions of tiny holes that allow moisture vapor to pass through. Eclipse Barrier/Tech achieves moisture vapor transmission by a totally different principle. Our hydrophilic laminate uses a charged surface to absorb and transport moisture and moisture vapor.

- No holes for wind to pass through
- Water resistant of up to 30,000mm
- Even works against sea water

MONOLITHIC BARRIER

The monolithic barrier membrane has no holes and protects from the wind and will not clog with dirt, detergent, perspiration or seawater.

HYDROPHILIC LAMINATE

For our hydrophilic laminates, we use combinations of mostly hydrophilic amino acids we call “auxiliary ingredients”. These auxiliary ingredients allow the surface of the laminate to have a “charged surface”. By charging the surface we allow the laminate to absorb moisture generated by perspiration and perspiration vapor condensation (dew condensation).

DURABLE & WATERPROOF

Eclipse Barrier/Tech has a superior adhesion between membrane and base fabrics so that it retains peak performance even after perspiration build up and repeated washings. Also, it has a water resistance of up to 30,000mm, allowing the wearer to cope with almost any weather.

Eclipse Barrier/Fleece has a non-porous film that has no holes. Other products (such as PTFE membranes or coated fabrics) have millions of tiny holes that allow moisture vapor to pass through. Eclipse Barrier/Fleece achieves moisture vapor transmission by a totally different principle. Our hydrophilic film uses a charged surface to absorb and transport moisture and moisture vapor.

Eclipse Barrier/Fleece has a monolithic film that “stretches”, (unlike others!) and has no holes that will enlarge or possibly clog with dirt. Also, there are no holes for wind to come through!

Eclipse Barrier/Fleece is the most up-to-date development in water resistant micro climate fleece technology. It merges American ingenuity with global technology; the end result is a superior product at an affordable price.

Eclipse™ Microfibre Dense (MFD) Fabrics:

Eclipse MFD is a “new generation” of moisture-permeable and waterproof fabric that has innovative features that use microfibre technology and extra high-density fabric weaving technology. Woven to extremely high density, the extra fine fibers give Eclipse MFD remarkable strength, allowing it to withstand water pressure of more than 1,000 mm.

SuperShed™ DWR Application:

This super durable waterproof application has a rating of 80 using the Water Repellency Spray Method, even after over 100 repeated washings! This newly developed DWR technology uses a water repellent agent and a collateral process technology that densely aligns water repellent groups and bonding them firmly to the nylon fabric.
